TORROX

TORROX with its narrow medieval streets, whitewashed homes nestled into the hillside, old ladies sitting in wooden chairs gossiping, and children playing in the streets – this is the lovely traditional Spanish village where you stay and enjoy the best climate in Europe with over 300 days of sunshine each year.

Torrox is situated in the most beautiful part of Spain with green hills, white villages, huge nature reserves (one-fifth of Andalucian territory is under environmental protection), orchards of orange and olive trees and snowcapped mountain ranges with spectacular views of the Mediterrean Sea.

From Torrox it is possible to visit the cities of Granada, Malaga and Ronda. Activity possibilities here are endless with Golfers in particular, well catered for.  Nearby the Almijarra and Montes de Malaga nature reserves can be explored. These inland areas where the mountain peaks rise to over 7000 feet are home to many varieties of flora and fauna now lost to most of Europe. These parks are a haven for walking, horse riding or mountain biking. Down at the beaches one can find the usual array of possibilities including, swimming, diving, fishing etc.

Andalucia is one of the warmest regions of Europe. It has a temperate, Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters with irregular rainfall.

The areas where our walks are situated offer varied terrain, wonderful views of the coasts and the mountains and a variety of flora and fauna.

Sightseeing is endless too, probably the most visited location is the Alhambra Palace in Granada, about an hour away.  The Sierra Nevada with the longest skiing season in Europe is a little further at one and a half hours drive.
